Two sister-poets from Chicago and California will take turns sharing poems from their new collections at this free event.

Gay Guard-Chamberlin’s Red Thread Through a Rusty Needle explores the natural world and the collapse of eco-systems, mothers and daughters, aging, the inner life of words, and the secret lives of ordinary objects.

Anara Guard’s Hand on My Heart plumbs the depths of memory and imagination, regrets, childbirth and parenting, floods and heat waves, the flight of owls, and certain love. Both books will be available for sale and signing at the end of the reading. Light refreshments provided.
